Why Use Microfibre?

What is Technoclean Antibacterial Microfibre?

As microfibre removes so much solution, bacteria and greases from a surface, it is extremely important that your cloths and mops don’t become a breeding ground for more bugs like your old smelly kitchen cloths. To thermally clean and sanitize microfibre cloths, they need to be laundered above 77 degrees for more than 15 minutes.

Techno-clean antibacterial microfibre can be laundered up to 95 degrees Celsius. Inferior cloths cannot withstand this temperature, so they are never fully sanitized, meaning you can be spreading bacteria and germs next time you use them.

Techno-clean antibacterial microfibre has been developed over the years and now contains solid silver embedded into the fibre which gives it some self sanitizing and antibacterial properties. The new Techno-clean Antibacterial Microfibre not only cleans the surface by removing the germs on it, the silver agent inside the microfibres then inhibits the growth of the germs which eventually causes them to suffocate and die.

Are you really cleaning ?or just moving bugs and dirt around your facility?

Are you really cleaning ?or just moving bugs and dirt around your facility?

Most cleaning within our facilities is based on moistening a surface with a solution of neutral cleaner and water and wiping that surface with a previously used mop or cloth. When you look at what is tipped down the drain after cleaning, this dirty solution is what you have actually attempted to clean your facility with. It is basically impossible to bring your surfaces up to a higher standard of cleanliness and hygiene than that of the cloth, mop or solution that you are using.

To really improve our cross contamination rates we need to clean each and every area with a clean un-contaminated cloth or mop that picks up germs and dirt without spreading it onto nearby surfaces.

residual chemicals and slippery floors

Is Residual Chemical attracting dirt and creating very slippery floors in your facility?

Normally when floors are mopped, about six litres of properly diluted mopping solution is used in the bucket. Five litres is normally tipped down the drain after use, so the balance is either in our mop or left on the floor. The water component of this properly diluted mopping solution then evaporates leaving a fine film of dirt, bacteria and chemical concentrate to dry into the pores of your floor. This happens every time you leave mopping solution behind and is one of the main reasons that your floors will attract dust and dirt in the future and be very slippery when wet. The less residual chemical you can leave behind, the less dirt and dust will be attracted to your surface and that means future cleaning will be easier, faster and needed less frequently.

Do You Know where your cleaning time is spent?

Do You Know where your cleaning time is spent?

When it comes to mopping floors only 25% of the time is actually with the mop on the floor. The most time consuming processes in mopping your floors are, emptying and filling mopping solution, putting buckets onto and off the cleaner’s trolley, moving to and from the cleaner’s room, returning to the bucket to rinse and wring out mops and then returning to the cleaner’s room, emptying buckets and starting all over again for the next two to three rooms. This process is often repeated up to ten times a day for many cleaners.

How Much Water or mopping solution are you tipping DOWN THE DRAIN?

How Much Water or mopping solution are you tipping DOWN THE DRAIN?

To mop 16 rooms you would normally use six litres in a bucket and fill it up eight times. 6L X 8 buckets X 365 days = 17,520 L and most of this gets tipped down the drain after use, however when mopping floors with the Techno-clean System you don’t use all these buckets of dirty solution and you don’t clean the floor with that same, possibly contaminated water. You simply use a clean 80 gram Microfibre head pre soaked with 160 ml of solution.

To mop the same 16 rooms with the Techno-clean System we use; 16 covers X 160 ml X 365 = 934.4 L.

A massive saving of 16,585.6 litres per year just for 16 rooms.

Save time & effort

To save time and effort our mops and cloths are premoistened in our hermetically sealed bucket at the start of the shift and are stored on the trolley ready to use immediately, without all the time consuming tasks of the traditional system. In a 16 ward facility it traditionally took 2 hrs 43 min to mop the floors and now the “Techno-clean System” has reduced this time down to 49 minutes.

This is a saving of 114 min a day, 13 hrs a week, 695 hrs per year or approx $13,910 at $20 per hour including on costs, just for 16 rooms.

Is Your Cleaning System hurting your staff ?

Is Your Cleaning System hurting your staff ?

Many of our cleaning staff spend their day carrying mop buckets to and from the cleaners room, emptying and refilling them, wringing out mops in old wringer buckets and mopping using bad posture. Floors are left far too wet after mopping and residual chemical on wet floors can cause slips, trips and falls to staff and residents. Trying to dust high surfaces with the wrong cleaning tools can cause viruses to become airborne and further spread infection. Wouldn’t it be great if everything your cleaners needed was right next to them at the correct height so they did not need to hurt themselves in their daily duties?

What OH&S issues can I reduce?

The Techno-clean System is fully designed to reduce wear and tear on muscles and joints.

By avoiding lifting of mop buckets, rinsing and wringing out of mops, twisting of wrists and cleaning in a bent over position we reducethe potential for strain and injury dramatically.

For example, all our mop handles are adjustable to the correct chin height of the operator, our trolleys have all the tools needed at the correct height to further minimise bending over. Microfibre cloths are pre-treated meaning no rinsing and less wear on wrists.
